The RSRV RESURGENCE collection is inspired by the physiological and psychological journey of extreme sports athletes as they navigate the duality of resilience and vulnerability. It is an interpretation of the growth and transformation of injury and recovery. We are celebrating the beautiful dance of resolution and reinvention that athletic injury allows and the transcendent journey that it can incite.

THREADLINE LEATHER JACKET

The silhouette of this jacket is another homage to the legendary Alpinestars Hero Jacket of the late 90s. It mimics the articulated, ergonomic fit of a performance race jacket, but works equally well as a distinguished casual piece. The robust, yet supple jacket is constructed from deadstock bovine leather that is normally used for MotoGP suit construction. It features ribbed, padded shoulders, and deadstock elbow sliders inspired by Alpinestars’ legacy of performance and protection. Further exploring its race roots, this jacket features paddock-worthy color blocking and paddock-inspired embroidered patches.

DISCHARGED HOODIE

The DISCHARGED HOODIE is an exaggerated outerwear piece with an oversized hood, layered sleeves, and a hyper-relaxed fit. It presents as 2 pieces, with the mid-length oversized sleeves revealing more fitted mesh sleeves with thumb openings beneath. It envelopes the wearer with its substantial heavyweight cotton material and the soft armor shoulder inserts create volume and breadth. Astars and RSRV logos are screen printed at the chest and sleeves in a tonal, overspray stencil effect.

BRACED HOODIE

Another perfectly clipped apex of form and function, the BRACED HOODIE further investigates the aesthetics of recovery and resilience. Borrowing an elastic waist belt from one of Alpinestars’ protective Bionic MX jackets, this semi-cropped, heavyweight hooded sweatshirt is both subdued and distinct. The wide belt is integrated into the waist of the hoodie and the adjustable velcro closure allows for transformation from boxier to a more fitted fit. The belt also references the slings, braces, and other injury-related medical paraphernalia that an athlete might rely on for recovery.

A1 SS TEE

An exercise in layers and an exploration of duality, the A1 SS TEE is a t-shirt/tank top hybrid inspired by motocross armor and built with fireproof fabrics. The short-sleeved box-bodied Nomex mesh t-shirt features a tonal screenprint of an Alpinestars A-1 Chest Protector—a favorite of professional MX athletes. A semi-opaque tank top (also constructed from Nomex mesh) is layered over the t-shirt, implying hidden strength, layered complexity, and an underlying juxtaposition of durability and vulnerability. The layering also alludes to an X-ray image as well, further referencing the journey to recovery theme of this collection.

RESURGENCE HAT

The 6-panel RESURGENCE HAT features a leather yoke that extends rearward in reference to the aero spoilers that are integrated into Alpinestars' state-of-the-art Supertech R10 motorcycle helmets. The “spoiler” component is constructed from leather that has been repurposed from race-worn, decommissioned race suits that have protected Alpinestars MotoGP athletes. Large Astars logos adorn each side of the cap, mimicking the logo placement on the Supertech R10 helmets, while small RSRV logos have been sublimated onto the rear of the “spoiler.”

ONYX BEANIE

The ONYX BEANIE is the skull cap equivalent of the balaclavas that Alpinestars F1 athletes wear to protect their head, neck, and face from the ever-present danger of fire. The ONYX is constructed from deadstock LENZING™ FR, an innovative, sustainably produced viscose fiber that provides exceptional flame resistance and protection against heat transfer. The auto-racing inspiration extends into the construction with overlock topstitching, which is also borrowed from the race-worthy balaclavas. For an added ode to racing (this time of the two-wheeled sort) the crown of the beanie is embellished with deadstock carbon fiber knuckle protectors that have been borrowed from Alpinestars performance motorcycle gloves.
