Tech-Air® is Alpinestars' electronic airbag system that provides enhanced upper body protection for motorcycle riders. The system uses AI-powered crash detection algorithms and advanced sensors to detect imminent impacts in milliseconds, deploying the airbag before impact occurs. Unlike tethered systems, Tech-Air® operates independently through sophisticated electronics that continuously monitor riding dynamics across multiple parameters including lean angle, acceleration, and deceleration.

The system is available in standalone vest formats offering comprehensive protection for the chest, back, shoulders, and collarbone areas. Tech-Air® is race-proven technology used by professional riders in MotoGP, World Superbike, and other premier racing series.

Tech-Air® systems are designed for multiple motorcycle riding disciplines, with specific algorithms optimized for each use case. The collection includes systems for street riding, track/sport riding, adventure touring, and off-road/motocross applications. The electronic control unit (ECU) is reusable and does not require replacement after deployment, making the system cost-effective over its lifetime.

Regular maintenance includes charging the system's battery (typically every 25-30 hours of riding), checking for firmware updates through the Tech-Air® mobile app, and inspecting the airbag vest or garment for any physical damage. The system provides battery status and diagnostic information through LED indicators and the companion smartphone application. All Alpinestars motorcycle jackets and suits produced since 2020 are designed to be Tech-Air^® compatible. These garments are engineered with the required internal space, stretch panels, and integration features to allow correct airbag deployment and optimal performance of the Tech-Air^® system.

For safe and effective use, Tech-Air^® systems should only be worn with garments that are specifically designed and certified as Tech-Air^® compatible. Using the system with non-compatible jackets or suits may restrict airbag deployment and could compromise rider safety.
