Are the SP-X BOA® Drystar® Boots waterproof and breathable?
Yes. The SP-X BOA® Drystar® Boots use a waterproof and breathable Drystar® liner for wet-weather riding. Their knitted mesh upper panels, textile rear calf and 3D mesh lining also support breathability and comfort.
How should I choose my size for the SP-X BOA® Drystar® Boots?
The Black Dark Gray variant is listed in men's EU sizes 38–48. Compare your measurements with the Alpinestars footwear size guide and try the boots with your intended riding socks rather than assuming the same fit as another boot model.
Check for a secure heel and ankle fit without painful pressure or cramped toes. The BOA closure and adjustable shin strap refine the fit, while micro suede at the heel helps reduce sliding inside the boot.
How does the BOA closure work on the SP-X BOA® Drystar® Boots?
The lateral side-entry system incorporates a BOA Speed Lace System for quick, precise and secure closure. A separate adjustable hook-and-loop strap on the shin plate lets you refine the upper fit; its TPU 3D print improves grip when fastening.
What CE certification and protection do the SP-X BOA® Drystar® Boots provide?
The SP-X BOA® Drystar® Boots are CE-certified to EN 13634:2017, the motorcycle protective footwear standard. They feature dual-density ankle protectors, internal shin reinforcement and a TPU heel counter for protection and support.
Additional protective features include a TPU shift pad and TPU sliders at the lateral toe box and calf. The supplied specifications do not state the individual EN 13634 performance levels.
Are the SP-X BOA® Drystar® Boots suitable for long-distance touring and walking off the bike?
Yes. These mid-length boots have an ergonomically optimized sport-touring design intended for extended road rides. The upper combines advanced microfiber, knitted mesh and co-injected TPU with Lycra to support comfort and flexibility.
For walking off the bike, the sports sole uses a high-flex inner structure and a textured rubber outsole. An integrated support shank adds sole rigidity, while a removable anatomic EVA footbed provides support and cushioning.
